Rainbow Heart Clouds

KSH Rainbow Bridge

"Somewhere in Time's own space there must be some sweet pastured place,

Where creeks sing on and tall trees grow, some Paradise where horses go.

For by the love that guides this pen, I know great horses live again."

Many horses have passed through the gates of KSH. Here we honor their memories, though we can never fully express our love and appreciation with just words!

Name: Nelson

Birthday: February 21, 2002 - July 2020

Breed: Pinto (Arab/Quarter Horse cross)

Occupation: Nelson was our resident repair man. He was always sure to help with farm repairs. We could count on him to carry our buckets of tools, zip up (or down) our jackets, and to stick with the job until it was done. His diagnosis of cancer came with great heartbreak but no surprise, as greys are especially susceptible to developing cancerous tumors.

Name: LM Flames Monkey aka "Jesse James"

Birthday: April 21, 2006 - August 2018

Breed: Pony of the Americas

Occupation: Lesson horse for lead-line lessons and intermediate riders. Jesse developed Polysaccharide Storage Myopathy which ultimately ended his life. He is laid to rest next to his best friend Arabian mare, Memory.

Name: Ibn Niaire aka "Kenevil"

Birthday: March 4, 1994 - August 2022

Breed: Arabian

Occupation: Lesson horse for beginning to advanced riders. This guy could do it all! He carried many riders in western and English saddles, rode in many parades, and was an overall favorite at the farm. He lived out his golden years in the "Bachelor Pasture," our biggest field, with his gelding buds.

Name: Mister Detail aka "Detail"

Birthday: March 17, 1998 - March 27, 2026

Breed: American Quarter Horse

Occupation: Detail did everything from the littlest beginners to the most advanced adults, and he adjusted his ride for each! For kids, he'd plod around all day like the slowest most Steady Eddy and as soon as an adult got on him, he'd make sure they were asking precisely and clearly before he fully cooperated. In life, blankies, overnight stalling, daily senior feed, and getting dressed up in purple for the occasional Edie Joe ride were some of his favorite past times. After years of horse shows, going to college, and then moving back home offer lessons for the past 10 years, sweet Detail was laid to rest with his favorite blanket, next to his beloved former herd mates Dorothy and Memory.
